The new ISC Fellowship Programme has been created to host researchers from developing and low-resource countries in the early stages of their careers to develop their research and / or clinical experience in institutions outside their region. Young colleagues are invited to learn from experienced specialists within the ISC and to take home new ideas and processes that help them improve their clinical or laboratory practice.
Three to four fellowships will be awarded in 2012. Funding will be provided for up to three months and up to a maximum of the equivalent of 7,500 US Dollars to cover travel costs and living expenses. The Fellowship will support research, not course studies. The start date will be mutually agreed by the host institution and the Fellow.
TRAINING CENTRES: In 2012, applications are invited from young scientists (physicians, microbiologists, and pharmacists) to spend time in Italy, the United Kingdom or Taiwan, working on the topics detailed in the application form.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger, from a developing or low-resource country and must hold a position at a medical, university, research, veterinary or public health institution. Good written and spoken English is essential.
DEADLINE: The deadline for applications is 1st May 2012. Only electronic submissions will be considered using the application form provided. Completed applications should be submitted to isc@abdn.ac.uk
Applications will be reviewed by members of the ISC Executive Committee and all applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 1st July 2012.
