25th ICC / 17th ECCMID The joint ICC / ECCMID was a great success. With over 7,500 participants from 106 different countries, it was the largest meeting in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in European history. 2,915 abstracts were received of which 56% were accepted for poster presentation and 8% were accepted for oral presentation. 9th International Symposium on Modern Concepts in Endocarditis and Cardiovascular Infections, 14-17 June 2007 Heidelberg, Germany Elias Abrutyn Young Investigator Award The winner will be chosen from among the abstract presenters during the meeting, must be still in training and under the age of 35. 26th ICC Toronto Canada The next International Congress of Chemotherapy will take place 18 – 21 June 2009. Please mark these dates in your diary. The organising committee has already started planning for the next ICC. Proposals from the ISC affiliated societies and the ISC Working Groups for the programme should be sent to one of the joint chairpersons of the Programme Committee; |

Raising money for breast cancer research and cancer care Our own Fiona MacKenzie (ISC Executive Director) will take part in the Moon Walk in Edinburgh, Scotland on 16th June. She will “power walk” 26 miles in an overnight event that starts at 10pm. All money raised goes towards a world-wide charity for breast cancer research and cancer care.
