2-4 September. Patient Safety Congress, Abu Dhabi

The patient Safety Congress has been organised by the GCC (States) Centre for Infection Control and Arab Health in collaboration with the ISC. The congress is split in two: “Infection Control” and “Decontamination & Sterilisation: Quality Management and Standards in CSSD”. Chair of the Scientific Committee is Dr. Ziad Memish. 29 – 30 October. APUA 2nd World Conference: Devising Improved Methods for Identification and Treatment of Infectious Diseases. Boston, USA

1-3 November. Innovative Therapeutics - New Targets, New Challenges, New Drugs, Istanbul

This congress on anti-cancer drugs is organised by the Turkish Society of Chemotherapy in conjunction with ISC. Abstract deadline is 15th September 2007.

15-17 November. New developments in cancer management. Toronto, Canada

This meeting has been co-organised by the ISC Cancer Section and is the joint 4th ISC International Conference on Cancer Therapeutics and 7th Princess Margaret Hospital Conference:

Topics to  be covered include:

* State of the art management of lung, breast, gastrointestinal, genitourinary cancers and haematological malignancies
* Latest advances in chemotherapy and surgical options
* The role of medical imaging in cancer diagnosis and treatment
* In depth examination of currently available and future targeted agents: Interpretation of clinical trials and application to clinical practice
* Managing toxicities of targeted therapies

21-24 November. Antibiotic Resistance. The Gambia

ISC is very pleased to announce a new network initiative in Africa. This will involve organising a series of meetings on “current issues with infection in Africa”.. The first will be held in collaboration with Mangosteen, which has several years experience in organising successful meetings in West Africa. It is a unique chance for people from around the world to come and present their own experiences, comparing and contrasting these with local presentations and state-of-the-art from acknowledged experts in the field. The friendly, informative atmosphere with group discussions and a beautiful venue will allow for a relaxed but informative and extremely enjoyable experience. 25-28 November. 24th National Congress of the Societa Italiana di Chemioterapia (SIC) Verona, Italy

This conference will be an important opportunity for scientists and physicians to meet who are involved in laboratory, translational and clinical research in the field of drug treatment of cancer.
