One of ISAC’s principal activities is production of the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents (IJAA) in collaboration with the publisher Elsevier.
The journal provides comprehensive and up-to-date peer reviewed reference information on the physical, pharmacological, in vitro and clinical properties of individual antimicrobial agents. In addition, it signals new trends and developments in the field through highly authoritative review articles on antimicrobial agents, immunomodulators and immunotherapy. Special attention is given to articles providing insight into the problems of antimicrobial resistance, local as well as worldwide, both in the hospital and in the community. Papers on the underlying mechanisms and on immunomodulating agents are also welcome. Both solicited reviews by top experts in the mentioned fields and high-quality original research papers are published.
Following Alasdair Geddes’ retirement after 10 years in the post, Jean-Marc Rolain (pictured), Professor of Microbiology, Faculté de Médecine et de Pharmacie Marseille, France, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. Under Professor Geddes’ expert stewardship the Journal has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years. The impact factor currently stands at 4.253 (© Thomson Scientific Journal Citation Reports 2016). The Journal is now ranked 16th out of 83 journals in the Infectious Diseases category, 25th out of 123 journals in the Microbiology category and 41st out of 253 journals in the Pharmacology & Pharmacy category of the Thomson Reuters, Journal Citation Reports.
